memberinterview

What is your biggest fear?
I am absolutely terrified of heights.

What is your favorite TV show/movie/song?
My favorite show right now is Supernatural, favorite movie of all time is Benny & Joon, and my favorite song is "Everything" by Lifehouse.

If a movie were to be made about your life, who would you want to portray you in the movie?
I'm going to have to come back to this one because I honestly have no fucking idea. How old would I be in this movie? What span of my life is it covering? I'm probably making this more difficult than it needs to be.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
I've always wanted to be a musician, but I wanted to be a pianist so badly or score music for films.

What are your plans for the next five years?
Succeed in teaching piano, enjoy spending time with Nic and our daughter. God she'll be in kindergarten in five years and she's not even here yet. Where's that pause button?

Did you play any sports growing up?
Technically. I played them with Dino and Carson, but not on a team. Trust me it wouldn't have been a good thing and my asthma would have seen to it that it not happen.

What do you think are the three most important things someone should know about you?
I'm passionate about the things I genuinely love, I care entirely too much about everyone else to where it will drive me crazy and even if I don't get along with someone I'll still care, and if someone needs me I will drop everything I'm doing to try and help.

What is the most used app on your phone?
Aside from the usual ones (texting, internet, photos) it's probably going to be instagram.

What's your favorite meal?
Depends on the day and my mood, but typically I love Italian and traditional Thanksgiving dinner foods. Especially stuffing.

What are your favorite pizza toppings?
Right now? Pepperoni and pineapple, but typically just pepperoni.

What is the first thing you notice about a person of the opposite sex?
Physical: smile. Personality: sense of humor.

Is there anything about your body that you dislike?
My front teeth, I guess. I used to be really insecure about my appearance but all of that's changed lately aside from the general resemblance to a watermelon. So I'm going to counteract this with something positive cause I'm into that whole "love who you are" thing right now: I love my legs.

What is one of your favorite memories from your childhood?
Singing along to the soundtrack of The Lion King in the car with my dad. Any and everything with Carson. Dino's now infamous slip and slide that he constructed out of a sheet and Kool-Aid. The juice wasn't the only thing that colored the sheet red.

Where did you go on your very first date?
Movies. Sixteen year olds aren't the most creative beings on the earth.

Do you believe in love at first sight?
Yes and no. It takes time and work to fall in love and to stay in love with someone. But I do think you can see someone and just know that this time it's different, and where it will lead. Trust your gut instinct.

If you had to give up something that you love, what would it be?
I love so many things so you'd think this would be simple enough for me to answer. Probably television though. I'm too invested as it is.

What's your favorite smell?
Rain, always rain. Or the smell of Nic's cologne.

what show do you think should never air again?
Pretty much most reality shows. I really only like the game/competition based ones. (re: Big Brother)

what has been your craziest pregnancy craving?
I haven't had a lot of outlandish ones, but I keep combining things. For awhile there I kept eating cucumbers with mint, vinegar and oil. I also refuse to eat sandwiches now without squashing Doritos in there.

What are you going to name your child, and why?
I don't want to say the first name in the event that we change it again, but her middle name will be Beth after my mother's name. ALTHOUGH APPARENTLY I SHOULD JUST SAY THE NAME SINCE MY HUSBAND FORGOT WE EVEN PICKED A NAME OUT IN THE FIRST PLACE. (Yes, I just fucking ratted you out.)

What was the funniest moment in your life?
If I said my wedding day I'm pretty sure he would glare at me. So I'm going to go with getting drunk for the first time with Carson.

Where do you want to be (marital, career-wise) in fifteen years?
Still married. He's not getting out of it that easily. Career wise I honestly don't know, but maybe finally breaking into scoring films. A few kids maybe, traveling and not getting into a rut.

Who's your favorite comedian?
Craig Ferguson. Gabriel Iglesias is awesome too.

Why am I so funny?
I don't know, you just are! You're one of my favorites to talk to but we don't do it nearly enough. Remind me to fix that, my memory is garbage lately.

What's your favorite cartoon?
Rugrats, always.

Would you ever walk away from your life?
Not a chance. I'm thankful for everything and everyone in it.

What's your dream career?
Pianist or infamous scorer of movie music.

What's your wildest fantasy?
What kind of fantasy are we talking here? Just something crazy I want to do in life or sex? I NEED DETAILS, JILL.

What are your non-negotiables in love and friendships?
Trust and loyalty, which goes hand in hand with honesty. If those aren't there then there's no point. However, senses of humor are also necessary. And don't be a conceited prick because nothing grates on my nerves more.

What are your thoughts on shows like sister wives and shit?
It's cool if that's their thing and their way of life, but I don't watch it. Their life is theirs and I don't see why it's being put up for entertainment.

what is the hardest part about being pregnant?
Is it absolutely ridiculous to say that I love all of it? I didn't mind the endless hours of having my face planted in the toilet while she made me sick, I don't mind the backaches or the headaches or certain scents making me sick. After everything that's happened and that we've had to endure, I absolutely refuse to complain about this or wish she wasn't in there anymore. I know the opposite side of that and I'm choosing to just be grateful for it instead. The symptoms disappeared the first time a few days before and I had that sinking feeling. It was the absence of those things that made me wonder and then a few days later it happened. Feeling this way calms down my fear and keeps it from making me crazy with worry. This was probably a longer answer than you were aiming for, but there it is. Any pains I'm having right now are temporary. Everything else that happened is permanent and forever at the back of my mind.

But if I had to pick just one thing: I hate being so forgetful. If I forget your birthdays, please don't be offended. I keep losing my keys and my shoes as it is.

what advice would you give other women about pregnancy?
Enjoy it and trust your instincts. Don't take anything for granted because you may not realize just how lucky you are.

do you think a married family with children is any better than an unmarried relationship with kids, if so why?
No, definitely not. As long as the kids are still loved and taken care of then that's all that matters.

what are your views on young moms having children?
I guess it depends on how young? I don't think fifteen year olds should be having kids, you haven't had a chance to live yet. Otherwise it's none of my business. If they can/are then hey, more power to them. But I'm glad I'm in my mid-twenties for this.

what are your biggest cravings?
Cucumbers and anything chocolate. Although I'd murder someone for some cheesecake.

do you believe in staying home or going to work?
I believe in whatever works best for the family. I, however, will be going to work. Eventually.

what is the one thing you never had that you want for your kids?
I hesitate to answer this only because my parents could see this, but I guess stability? Not saying that my life wasn't stable - it was. My parents are amazing, but I also think a lot of how kids see their parents and how they interact with one another in their relationship makes a difference. My parents didn't get married and they were great parents, I never wanted for anything. I was taken care of and I knew my family loved me, and that's ultimately the most important. But for the longest time I was convinced that relationships couldn't work out and now I know that's obviously not true, so I want to make sure that Nic and I stay in a healthy relationship.

what is your biggest fear as a mother?
The birth itself. And trying to raise her to be a good human being in her own right. And the ways it will change my relationship with Nic, but I think we know what's at stake and we won't let it get fucked up.

What was your favorite food when you were a child?
Pizza.

What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?
Oh god. I'm even afraid to know this answer, let me find out. LMAO. Jesus. Okay it's "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?"

(it doesn't have to be a snowman.)

What is one of your favorite quotes?
"All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." -Walt Disney

What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
All of them. But especially dishes.

What is your favorite form of exercise?
Walking to the fridge/pantry.

Around one in the morning. The house is quiet and it's peaceful. I don't know, I just really like it. It's easier for me to relax.

Walking.

This is such a loaded question. On myself? On Nic? Myself: legs. Nic: everything.

What sound do you love?
The rain hitting the house.

Have you ever had something happen to you that you thought was bad but it turned out to be for the best?
So many things. Every time I lost a friend or a boyfriend, any time someone has walked out of my life for whatever reason - while it sucked at the time? It made me stronger and for that alone it's a good thing. And it led me to where I am now and I don't want to be anywhere else. There's also something more severe but that's a whole other can of worms.

What was one of the best parties you’ve ever been to?
All of the ones that had food. Or our wedding.

What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up?
The Golden Girls. To be fair, it's not that difficult.

What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done?
Learning to trust in someone completely. Forgiving myself.

What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
Being pregnant. It's crazy and it's made me realize how much I really can handle despite everything else.

What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?
Went along with Dino's stupid fucking ideas that wound up with one of us getting hurt. That rarely ever happened with Carson. Otherwise I was really pretty boring and just generally drove my parents crazy.

When was the last time you had an amazing meal?
The one Nic cooked a few weeks ago. Make it again.

What’s the best/worst gift you’ve ever given/received?
I don't know about given, you'd have to ask those I give gifts to. Best: Nic asking me to marry him. And the turtle. Worst: someone gave me a pair of wool socks one year. We live in California, why the fuck do I need those?

What do you miss most about being a kid?
No responsibilities. Being an adult sucks in so many ways.

Christmas. I could never sleep very much the night before and was always up before the sun.

What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
A book. Though my first big purchase was a laptop.

When was the last time you were nervous?
Every doctor's appointment, which is getting more and more frequent.

What is something you learned in the last week?
Eating an entire thing of thin mints in one sitting is not a good idea. My mouth tasted like mint the entire night.

What story does your family always tell about you?
The time I got so upset at something in a Harry Potter book and I flung it against the wall. There was a slight dent since it was hardback. I'm pretty sure it was when Ron kissed Lavender Brown, I was fucking furious.

At what age did you become an adult?
I like to think I'm eternally in between. I don't want to be strictly an adult, that's dull as hell. I'll pass on that.

What is the biggest risk you have taken?
Getting married. I never wanted to, being in a relationship terrified me. But he changed everything.

Describe your favourite room in your apartment/house.
I love our living room. We have a lot of furniture in it, but in a way that makes it more comforting to be in. We have our tv against the far wall with wooden cabinets surrounding it, a brown sofa across with a coffee table between, an armchair to the right which reminds me of the common rooms in Harry Potter, and my piano in the far corner. Toward the stairs we have the fireplace and chairs in front of it.

If you had the power to change one person's life, how would you do it?
I would take cancer out of my mom's life completely.

You see someone being hit in the street. What superpower would you like to have in this situation?
The power to freeze time. I could pause and get whatever it is out of the way.

Is there anywhere in particular that you've always wanted to visit?
London mostly, and New York.

What tv shows are you into at the moment?
How much time do you have? Okay here comes the list: Chasing Life, The Flash, Supernatural, Pretty Little Liars, Arrow, Big Brother, Reign, Ghost Adventures, Teen Wolf, The Walking Dead.

What was the last thing you bought?
A turtle.

If you could choose any alternate TV universe to live in, what would you choose and why? And then what movie universe and why?
Right now? Supernatural. I love this show and hunting demons and monsters would be fun. Let's exclude the going to hell part. Harry Potter, hands down. Why not is a better question.

Who is your favorite DC and Marvel superheroes?
Marvel: Pretty sure everyone knows it's Thor by now. DC: I honestly have no idea, can I go with Green Arrow cause I love the show?

Marvel or DC?
Is this even real? MARVEL.

What superhero is the first one you remember from growing up?
Superman.

What is your favorite super power?
Does the lightning for Thor count since he's technically using Mjolnir?

Besides the obvious answer which is food (fatass), list three of the best things about your job?
HA I'm not at that job anymore and who are you calling fat, asshole? 1. I get to do what I love (play piano). 2. I get to help others see why it's so incredible. 3. I get to hang out with mostly kids which is pretty damn great.

If you could pick any location/place/whatever for a Ghost Adventure and 3 people to bring along, where would it be and who would you take?
Oh shit there are so many locations I'd like to go to. Alcatraz would probably be the winner though. Nic, Carson, Molly cause I know she'd love it.

What is your favorite NHL hockey team? (our friendship is on the line)
Uh... one that plays.

What are the 5 most awesome things about AJ Kostner?
Nothing, you're a pain in my ass THIS ISN'T ABOUT ME.

You once told me you're 100% okay if your children decide they want to be gay... So, when your daughter is 18 and she comes up to you and says "Mom, all I want in life is to bone AJ Kostner." what would you say to her?
I would tell her to cover her eyes while daddy kills AJ. I don't want her to witness all of that violence.

what combination of fixings makes your perfect burrito?
I'm really into breakfast burritos lately, so eggs and all of that. But there needs to be cheese.

where is your happy space?
In front of the piano or at the beach.

what fact about you surprises people the most?
In a good way: how kind some people still are. In a bad way: how fucking self-centered people can be.

if you could invent a new flavor of ice cream, what would it be?
I just want the Brownie Batter from Ben & Jerry's back. That was the fucking best and they got rid of it.

how passionate are you about chicken nuggets?
SO PASSIONATE. GIVE ME ALL THE CHICKEN NUGGETS.

who would you let punch you directly in the face?
Lmao this is such a strange question? I can't stop laughing. Julie Andrews.

if i left you alone in a room with a box of my oreos and told you not to eat them, how long would it take for you to disobey my wishes?
Approximately 2.3 seconds. Less if there's peanut butter nearby, then those fuckers are mine.

how seriously do you take a game of monopoly?
Too much. It's all fun and games until someone A. steals my shit and B. it goes past an hour because I have the worst attention span.

what is your biggest regret?
Holding myself back from the best thing that ever happened to me. Thankfully, he was still there when I finally stopped being a dumbass.

how do you think our offspring is going to turn out? more like you or more like me?
I know I should say that I hope more like you, but I really hope she's like me that way we can both drive you up the wall. Physically I'm hoping for you, obviously. Especially your eyes. But she'll probably have my dark hair.

do you think we will be those parents who are careful of what they say around their child? or can i swear all i fucking want?
Her first word will probably be a swear word, it's inevitable.

how are you going to handle the jealousy of our animals when they see the newborn?
Get them new boxes to shred around the house so they can get joy out of watching me step on the sodden pieces of cardboard.

why do you love superheros so much?
THEY'RE AMAZING, NIC. HOW CAN YOU NOT. Not that you have a choice. We're seeing Avengers: Age of Ultron whether yu want to or not. It comes out a few days before my birthday so we're going.

why do you torment me with your music?
Because my music is incredible. And for my own amusement.

do you ever get frustrated that i'm so anti-social and you're so social and out going?
Nah, not really. Only that I have to forcibly drag you out when I get stir crazy but you usually don't complain that much.

if you could name a beer after us, what would you call it?
The gremlin.

how mad will you be if i throw gizmo's first birthday a iron maiden or gwar theme?
Mad wouldn't be the term I'd use. But we can compromise and do half-half. Because if you don't think I'm dressing her as Ariel then you don't know me as well as you think you do.

so you know we will need to have a boy someday and when we do, we are really naming him gizmo, how does that sound?
...... Are you already turning me into a baby machine and I didn't get the memo? But Gizmo Morris it is. I hope he has big ears.
